The life I live (about me)

Kedar, da Vinci, and the ApeWell, nobody likes you when you’re 23. Nobody likes you when you can punctuate your sentences properly; those with semi-colons are the hardest to digest.

Actually, that’s not me at all. Have y’all ever met one of those kids who wants to be a frat boy but is too old…that’s not me either, but I’m just saying, that perhaps I would like to be one who can punctuate his sentences well. It was about September last year when burning burning burning to San Diego I came. Now, established, as far as that goes, and comfortable also like wise, where do I go from here?

This past year I have begun surfing, learned to ski relatively well, hurt my back, read a few books and fallen in love. I am a graduate student at the University of California, San Diego, studying English Literature, and my grammarphilia, falling in love, learning things outdoors are somewhat–only somewhat–loosely connected. I also teach for my stipend and fee remission. Both are more than just a necessity, although I won’t be teaching at all this coming year.

Mostly, I enjoy the city and the open space; I am done with urban space. I like having a garden, and not the balcony-top pot-plants, but with real raised beds and growing fruit and vegetables. Though I don’t have the lifestyle that affords me such luxuries, imagining them is enough for now.

As my picture suggests, da Vinci’s man, Great Apes, and I have things in common. Neither of the earlier two have visible sweat stains in their armpits.
